5111475 Private John Beddell Farrington, Royal Warwickshire Regiment was awarded the British Empire Medal (Military Division) 5th Dec. 1946 for "gallant and distinguished service in the field."(LG 37808, page 5948.)

He had been taken prisoner of war and remained in captivity at several camps for 4 years.

He was a member of the original Commando Association but they had lost contact with him. In March 1974 his name was published on a list entitled Lost Legion 4 sent out to members of those whom they had lost contact with. Note that they show him as Lance Corporal. Click on the list name to view it.
