John Wall served in No.5 Commando
Steve informs me: 'He is wearing sunglasses and this helps date it to the Heroes Return trip to Burma in March 2005...'
John's description of his service - used, by his family, in his obituary:
"Called up on 2nd September 1939 for wartime service with the 1/4th Battalion South Lancashire Regiment (Territorials). He served in 1940 with No 4 Independent Company in Norway; the 1st Battalion South Lancashire Regiment during 1940/41. He served also during 1941/1946 with 5 Commando in Madagascar, India, Burma, and Hong Kong."

Trooper Wall wears the Territorial Army LS & GC Medal so probably may have resumed serving Post War. I understand that a Year of War Service counts as two when calculating entitlement.
