I have seen several different spellings of the surname of this officer who was MO for No.4 Independent Company and No.2 Commando prior to St Nazaire. These include MacKeiver, McIvor, MacIvor, McKeiver. I have seen one entry in the No.2 Commando War diary which mentions this officer by name and the spelling is McIver. After a chat with Mrs Roderick we agreed to use that spelling for his photo in our gallery. If anyone can provide any information please contact me - Pete Rogers via the forum or the Contact Form. There is an entry on the 2nd August 1941 in the War Diary stating that Capt Barling RAMC joined the unit whilst Capt McIver went to Edinburgh for a board.
