Captain (later Colonel) George R. M. H. More MC and bar
Colonel More was awarded a Military Cross and bar for gallantry during the war (one for Litani River whilst with No.11 Commando, the other whilst with the Special Operations Executive), and a MID for his actions at Dunkirk, and retired as a Colonel. Thanks to Henry More for this photo, taken in January 1944 in Serbia's Kopaonik Mountains whilst with the SOE, and Ian McHarg for his assistance in enabling this posting. Jimmy Lawson, Piper of 11 Cdo., has a copy of this photo from Henry who has written the following on it " Notice the monocle hanging round his neck. Dad wore glasses but was told this wasn't manly in the Serbs opinion, so he wore a monocle instead ! "
