Richard adds "My dad joined 42 CDO in Sept 45. Trained in Wales, sent to Hong Kong, via Singapore sept 46. Left for Malta July
47. spent 3 months in Tripolitania , N Africa. shipped to Palestine early 48 to cover withdrawal. he tells me it was a 'busy time'. departed in June with 42 CDO. he left service in December 1948 aged 20."
