Mne. Harry Greaves
Photo courtesy of Lance Greaves who adds, "My brother, Harry Greaves, was born in Oldham on October 14, 1957. Barely six months after leaving school he applied and was accepted into the Royal Marines and our father and me attended his passing-out at the Commando Training Centre at Lympstone, Devon, on September 26, 1975. He joined 40 Commando and completed two tours of Northern Ireland - in South Armagh in August-December 1976 and Andersonstown in August 1977. I think he was on attachment for the latter. He 'left' as Marine Greaves (PO34281W) towards the end of 1978. He died of heart failure on January 28 2018 while we were fellwalking near the Lancashire/Yorkshire border."
