Robert Moran - Far left
I came across this picture after looking up my late grandfathers military history, knowing he was in the no.6 commandos, knowing they were involved in operation overlord and went to orne bridges I was looking through thhese pictures and found the man on the left hand side of this picture is my grandfather Robert (bob) Moran and I couldnt be more proud.

Ltn Thursby's death is mentioned in the "Third Jungle Book" issue No.8 date Sep 1945, in the No.5 Troop Notes section, page 26.
"The sudden passing of Lieut. Thursby was agreat blow to the Troop we offer our sincerest condolences to his family on their great loss"

Don't know who did these pictures but I'm the son on A. Wogel in the picture, trying to find anyone who knew him, and what happened to him in North Africa, all we know he was wounded and came home a diffrent man, he had totally changed.

Captain J.D. Bowyer
I think the man in the rear of this picture is my grandfather - Captain J.D. Bowyer. He was an instructor at Achnacarry in 1942/43. He was later posted to 5 Commando and served in Burma. My grandmother owned a copy of the same photograph and always claimed that this was him in the picture.
If anyone can confirm this or has any memories of him I would love to hear from you.

I think that my father may be pictured 4th row from the top and 4th from the left. His name was Pat (Paddy) Wiggins. He had a good friend called Murphy does anyone know of these two men?
