Update 18/10/10 by Pete R....In the CVA Nominal Rolls gallery there are Troop Notes for 1 Cdo that show Lt. Thursby was in 5 troop with Captain 'Dick' Turpin as their troop captain. Also Andy Maines has posted a comment " Lieut. Thursby's death is mentioned in the "Third Jungle Book" issue No.8 date Sep 1945, in the No.5 Troop Notes section, page 26. - "The sudden passing of Lieut. Thursby was a great blow to the Troop we offer our sincerest condolences to his family on their great loss"
nb. The date of his death on the CWGC certificate is 4 days earlier than that shown on the School ROH. I have informed Mr Durran. All details posted By Pete Rogers
