Commando list
There is a T. Milner shown on the list of Commandos. This was Ordinary Seaman Tom Milner, D/JX.288472, RN crew of ML298 - on the raid, not Commando.

I have a picture of Ted Salthouse!
I am going through my husbands Grandfather's photos etc and I have teased out that he was in Troop E and this just confirms it because I have a photo of him with Ted Salthouse and some others and Ted has signed the back! I would love to connect with whoever posted this.

(Leonard) George Elliott
Looking for any info on what 40 Commando Troop George Elliott served in WW2 please.
We know that George served in Malta in 1942/1943 and was photographed at HMS St Angello, and then served in Italy 1944/1945.
His service continued after the war, where he was in Malaya.
He then went on to work with the Bomb Disposal Team based at Broadbridge Heath Camp.
He sadly passed away in 2019 aged 97.
If anyone did serve with him, or is related to anyone who served with him, there are many photos that his daughter Linda has let me borrow, which she is happy to share.

billeting Commandos in Troon homes
As a child during WW2, I lived in a 2-bedroom council house at 38 Logan Drive, Troon. I had to give up my bedroom and sleep in my parents' room throughout the war, and we billeted two servicemen, mainly no.4 commandos, who trained in a field at the end of the road. They all left as D-Day approached, and I have often wondered hiow they fared.
