Top row, 2nd from right. 13 the from left. My grandfather Reg King. Does anyone have any more information as he isn't with us anymore and when he was here wouldn't tell us Grandchildren about what he went through. We found this photo a few months back, ran it through face recognition and it matched my Grandfather. I have his medals and got some information, but would love to know more.

Edwin (Bob) Bond?
I think that the second on the left, back row is my Grandad - Edwin Bond (he was always known as Bob). I've been trying to find out more information about his time in the Marines but have been drawing a blank. I know he was in Burma and that's about it!

My Uncle Fusilier Robert Salonicka Woodman row 2 (4) Killed at St Nazaire. My Dad and Uncle spoke of him so many times that I feel I knew him although never met him. So proud of him, and indeed all of these men.

I also have an original photograph. My father, Pte Alfred James Turner is the third man standing in the back. I have a navy blue background with red lettering COMMANDO insignia. It does not have a number.

Tom joined the Seaforth Highlanders on 11 August 1939 and was initially posted to 7th Battalion. In July/August 1940 he volunteered for the No.11 Scottish Commando and on 7 September 1940 was accepted and went for further training on the Isle of Arran, before sailing to Egypt via Cape Town. He served with this Commando unit, for some time as part of Layforce C Battalion, until August 1941. When the Commando Unit was disbanded, he volunteered for and was accepted into the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) on 3 September 1941. He served with the LRDG until 19 January 1943, mostly behind enemy lines. He was then posted back to the Seaforth Highlanders 2nd Battalion in Libya/Tunisia and was involved in the Sicily landings, being wounded in the battle for Sferro Hills. He then returned to the UK and was involved in Operation Overlord, being evacuated back to the UK (Glasgow Hospital). Tom's medals include the Africa Star with 8th army clasp, the Italy Star and the France/Germany Star.

33 identified as Harold Cornford
Almost certainly, No 33 is my grandfather Harold Cornford (Army No 114 114 21, DoB 11 Mar 1922, enlisted 19 Mar 1942).
His younger brother also identified him in the picture. In addition, there is a lot of similarity to pictures that we have of him.
