46RM Commando, Royal Marines,
who died on the 20th June 1944, of wounds inflicted at Sallenelles on the 19th June 1944, aged 29.
Remembered with honour at Hermanville War Cemetery

who died on the 11th June 1944 at Rots and Le Hamel.

The kneeling Commando has his F & S Commando Knife gripped in his teeth!

The men are draped in belted ammunition and there is a German machine-gun to the right so this ammo is also captured. The right hand weapon is the famous .303 Bren which they would always carry.
