Lizzie adds “This is my dad, Chris ‘Spike’ Cooper. He enlisted on 21 November 1939, in 2nd Battalion RM then joined 43RM Commando on 1 August 1943. He was born in 1918 and died in 2000. He was a great Dad and a fine man”
