Mne. Charles Kenneth Beer, 40RM Commando

S/N: PLY/X 111339. Transferred from MNBDO11 to HOC at Wrexham 28/5/44. Then proceeded to be Commando trained at the CBTC, Achnacarry from 29/5/44 until 10/7/44. Joined 40RM Cdo from HOC 21/8/44. Was wounded in action 9/10/44 during Houndforce, a raid on Sarande, Albania, involving 40RM Commando and No.2 (Army) Commando, and other elements. After recovering from his wounds on the 16th March 1945 he was posted to HMS Byrsa, a land base at Castellamare, and home of the Naples Port Naval Party. He remained there until 12th March 1946.
