Frederick enlisted 13 December 1939. Qualified as a fitter and mechanic. Served in 3210 Servicing Commando RAF from 29 May 1943; and 3205 Servicing Commando RAF (Air Command South East Asia) from 2 November 1944. Operational deployments included Normandy and Burma. Released Class 'A' Reserve. Final rank attained Corporal.
