LCpl Mick Collins No.5 Commando 5 Troop

No5 Cdo was caught in a Japanese ambush in Burma on 23 March 1944, a number of commandos were killed, many others were wounded. This must have been taken when Mick was recovering from the wounds as he looks quite drawn and ill on this photo.
Also the Wound Stripe can be clearly seen 3" above the cuff of his left sleeve (below the Good Conduct Chevron)
