Herbert 'Spike' Pike was a Gunner in No.4 Commando. He joined when No.4 Cdo was first formed. He took part in the Lofoten and Dieppe raids receiving rapid promotion to L/Bdr then Sergeant." He was later a Sergeant Instructor at the CBTC. He was sent to OCTU and commissioned. He served in the Glosters and the RAOC from 10 Dec 1944 - 27 Nov 1975. Promoted Captain 11/3/1951, he fought at the Battle of Imjin in April 1951 and was taken POW. He retired as a Major and died on Tuesday 20th May aged 87.
