Pierre Laux
Pierre Laux was born on 16 June 1918 in Kayl, Luxembourg. He became a member of the French Foreign Legion in Morocco when Luxembourg was invaded during WWII.
In 1942 Laux went to London where he enlists in the Devonshire Regiment and then volunteers for the Commandos.
On D-Day, Laux landed on Sword Beach with No.4 Commando. He took part in the liberation of Ouistreham and went on to fight in the Battle of Normandy.
On 2 November 1944, Pierre Laux landed at Vlissingen on Walcheren Island in the Netherlands. He was killed in action at the entrance of a German pillbox.
Laux is buried in the War Cemetery in Bergen-op-Zoom.
