Jimmy Suthers (left) and Eric Buckmaster, both No.2 Commando 5 Troop
Photo courtesy of Eric Buckmaster who adds " Jimmy Suthers died about 5 years ago and I attended his funeral. He was with me at the Standown Parade, after which this photo was taken. He would have been about the same age as me, and spoke with a strong Cockney Accent having lived much of his life in South London. We assumed him to be a Londoner, however he was in fact a Yorkshireman. He left school at 14 pre-war and went down the Pit as a Miner, but he didn't like it, so he joined the Army. One of his RA Army Pals came from South London, so he settled in that area, met his wife and never went back to Yorkshire. Mrs Suthers had a delightful Cockney Accent."
