Troop Sergeant Major Lindsay Garland, No.2 Commando kia 16 Sept'43 Salerno
Son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Garland; husband of Margaret Garland, of Ecclefechan, Dumfriesshire.
He was with Captain the Duke of Wellington during the attack on 'The Pimple' in the village of Piegolelle, Salerno. Both were killed.
28 March 1942 the then Lance Sergeant Garland embarked on motor launch ML 447 for Operation Chariot, the raid at St. Nazaire. Evacuated back to the UK after the raid.
