No.2 Commando. Known as 'Bert' or to some Commandos as 'Herbie'. He was originally in 6 troop but was moved to 5 troop when the Commando was restructured late 1943. This photo was taken at a rest camp just outside Rome on 8th August 1944 as is written on the reverse which is attached here.
