Collection of LCpl. Adrian Stevens, No.2 Commando 3 troop

The following information is from Adrian's grandson Graeme: Lance Corporal Adrian Stevens served with no 2 Commando 3 troop during WW2. He later formed close friendships with Brigadier Peter Young and Major Jack Churchill. After the war he built a martial art club called the Budokan in Frimley (Surrey) with my father Barrie Stevens, this was to become one of the best martial art centres in the UK, training Olympic medallists, film starts, stunt men, and the police force. Lord Louis Mountbatten, Jack Churchill and Peter Young were all involved with its early development and I believe a Commando reunion was held there. I also believe that my granddad was involved with helping Brigadier Peter Young start up the Sealed Knot. He met my grandmother Ellen in AYR in Scotland. My Grandma Helen was working on the buses in 1941, he was supposed to be walking on an exercise but cheated (used his initiative)and jumped on a bus, Helen was the clippie!! (conductress) and that is how they first met."
