No.2 Commando Sgts. pre St Nazaire

I am grateful to Col. Tom Sherman OBE who was a TSM in No.2 Commando 4 troop, and who is in this photo, for his assistance in providing the following names:

left to right ; 1. Johnny Knowles 4 troop, POW after St Nazaire; 2. Tom Sherman 4 troop (returned from St Nazaire and later went to OCTU leaving the Commando); 3. and in front is Roy Bellringer 1 troop, aka 'tingaling', returned from St Nazaire; 4. tall man at the back is their driver and the only non Sgt. - Dvr.Torkington; 5. Arthur Wardle 4 troop, returned from St Nazaire, later went to OCTU and became Lieut. in 3 Cdo; 6. Colin Jones, 5 troop, POW after St Nazaire and awarded MM; 7.Ken McAllister 5 troop, later became TSM of 5 trp.; 8. Don Randall 5 troop, POW after St Nazaire and awarded the DCM; 9. name n/k but from South Lancs.; 10. Pete Morland 4 troop, later became TSM, awarded the DCM at Spilje, Albania; 11. name n/k but from Liverpool Scots.
