Private Martin Killeen and his wife
Martin 'Jack' Killeen was a Corporal in the Queen's Bays in 1940 working as a riding instructor. At some stage he joined the Beds. and Herts. In line with commando policy he gave up his rank when volunteering and joining No.2 Commando. He was killed during operations at Vietre Sul Mare, Italy, and initially buried in the Orange Grove at back of a school in Vietri. Son of Martin and Kathleen Killeen; husband of Kathleen Killeen, of New Malden, Surrey.
