Noble Goulding Sproule

A Canadian who enlisted with 2nd Bn Manchester Regiment in 1939. Then went from 9 Cdo to 11 Cdo where he saw action during Operation Exporter at Litani River. He later went onto OCTU, after a short period of training with L Detachment, and was posted as a 2Lt with 4th Bn Green Howards. In 1943 he was taken prisoner of war. He was captured in North Africa with 150 brigade, and subsequently escaped and was recaptured several times, ending the war in Oflag 79 in Brunswick.
