British troops with German POW's
This photo was originally titled Orne Bridgehead June 1944. however Jack Bakker has provided some information to the contrary.
Update 22/10/11 by Pete R. Jack Bakker has provided the following information regarding this photo " It is said that this photo was taken on the Orne bridgehead which was in Normandy. When I had a good look at the figures on the photo I noticed that the British troops (the ones with the berets and the ones with the helmet) are wearing smocks. As far as I know, smocks were not issued to the Commandos in Normandy, but were issued to them prior to Operation Infatuate, the landings on Walcheren in November 1944. Looking in a book called “Walcheren bevrijd” (Walcheren liberated) I found the same photo. The caption with the photo says: “German prisoners of war in the Kogelparkstraat in Flushing.”
