After that he was a member of what we call the First Reinforcement to No. 2 Dutch Troop. After the war he saw active service in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) as a member of Special Forces Depot. He left the Army in 1948. He took the initiative of erecting the No. 2 Dutch Troop Association and was the organizer of many trips to Achnacarry for veterans. He has also written a few books. The last one was called 'Dutch Achnacarry Commandos in wartime.' Jef passed away on 18 January 2015 at the age of 90 years."
