Pte. Charles Robert Jacobs
1249070 Aircraftman 1st Class Charles Robert Jacobs received a Mention In Despatches serving in the RAF. He volunteered for the Commandos after his brother had been taken prisoner in the Far East in 1942. Private Jacobs was attached to No.1 Commando and served in India, Burma, and Hong Kong. Post war he was a member of the Commando Association. b. 12.08.1920 Norfolk.

Notes
His brother 5772449 Sgt John Henry Jacobs, Royal Norfolk Regiment, survived the war in Japanese Prisoner of War Camps and was repatriated to the UK at the end of hostilities. He died in 1982.
