David adds this about his service "I was in 45 Commando RM in Aden and when I came back I passed my Corporals Course in early 1962. On successful completion I was promoted and sent to Commando School (known as ‘X’ Troop) as an Instructor serving there until early 1964 when I left the Corps to join Cardiff City Police. The photos were mainly taken at that time. In 1966 I joined the Royal Marines Reserve at Bristol serving until 1984 and promoted a Sergeant in the RMR. Trained as a Drill Instructor, and also Service Rifle Coach with RMR and was called to assist at CTCRM preparing people en route to the Falklands including the RM Band. With the RMR I trained in Norway twice (Mountain and Arctic Warfare) and Mountain Training at Kinlochleven. Also NATO Exercises in The Med with 41 Commando RM. Happy days."
