Achnacarry/Lochaber Project
Photos of the archaelogical dig and subsequent Service on the 30th August 2014 marking the end of the project that culminated in a helicopter flypast.
Amongst those in attendance at the event were The Right Honourable Charles Kennedy, MP for Ross, Skye, and Lochaber, Donald Cameron of Lochiel, Lieutenant Colonel Richard Parvin, Commanding Officer Royal Marines Reserve Scotland, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Little OBE, 51st Highland, 7th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (7 SCOTS), Capt Chris Smith RN, Naval Regional Commander, Scotland and N.Ireland, Lieutenant Commander Stephen Brown RN, Officer Commanding Northern Diving Group, CVA National Secretary Joe Murtagh, and project manager Robert Cairns, Chair of the Lochaber Archaeological Society. They were joined for the Service by Commando Veterans, representatives of the Lochaber Archaeological Society, the CVA, the Local Authority, Highland cadets (Lochaber Detachment), Lochaber High School Pipes and Drums, and other dignitaries and members of the public.
