Photo courtesy of Keith who adds "I was able to meet up with the son of an 46 vet who gave me an excellent tour of the initial route that the 46 unit took in Normandy (up to Sannerville). We were invited to Rots twice, once by a Mr. Benemou, curator of a military museum near Rots, who organised a British/Canadian commemoration there. I was extremely proud to be asked to help lay a wreath at the memorial there. I even gave a speech of thanks which I felt I had to make. The second time we were invited by the mayor to commemorate the battle there itself and I was able to meet Harry Sale plus daughter and husband and also the daughter of another vet. We have all been invited next year to stay at Rots for the 70th anniversary and the good people of Rots welcome all vets and friends of 46"
