Martin Linge was a Norwegian actor who escaped from Norway and held the rank of Captain in the Royal Norwegian Army. He was a Liaison Officer to the War Office and formed the Norwegian Independent Company which had close ties with the SOE. He was killed in action during Operation Archery at Maaloy on the 27th December 1941. Click on his name to see a memorial to him. He is remembered with honour at Vestre Gravlund (Western Cemetery), Oslo.

Identified by Laurence Murphy himself. Laurence was able to pinpoint the exact spot in the photo when he returned to Vaagso with his son John.

A wounded British officer being helped to a dressing station. (Operation Archery) The officer shown is Lieutenant O'Flaherty.

The soldier on the right is Derek Gordon Page - a commando. He subsequently left the commandos and served with the Gurkas in India fighting in Burma and eventually ending the war in Indonesia where he met a Dutch prisoner of war who he subsequently married. He left the army with the rank of Captain.
