Update 28/4/11 by Pete R. - Mark Nicol identifies his great uncle Sgt Charles 'Charlie/Red' Nicol as the fair haired Sgt. first of the 3 men seated in the front row. Sgt Nicol was a Gordon Highlander attached to 11 Commando and took part in Operation Flipper where he was taken POW. Sgt Nicol died in 1985.

Update 9/8/11 by Pete R. " The following surnames supplied by Jesper Ericsson, Curator of the Gordon Highlanders Museum. These are on a handwritten note on the photo and includes the location. Some forenames and ranks added where known.
