Served in France from 14 to 29 May 1940, later volunteering for the Commandos and attached to No.6 Commando. Medically discharged 4 July 1941. Awarded the 1939-43 Star, 1939-45 Star and the War Medal. Member of the Commando Association.  <br />
Philip Howard adds &quot;Edward was my maternal grandfather. He was originally from Aylesbury, but moved to Luton, where he was a painter and decorator after the war. He went to Leagrave British Legion for many years.&quot;<br />
