LCpl. Alan Carlisle was killed and Eric Spiers, who was at his side, was wounded* during operations at Vaagso on 27 December 1941. Sgt Eric Spiers was later killed at Normandy on 11 June 1944.<br />

Buried at sea and remembered with honour on the Brookwood Memorial.<br />
