Photo from the collection of 2066882 Cpl Reginald Stanley Mabey, No.2 Commando, courtesy of his son and namesake Reg who adds "I have a copy of the service record received from the M.O.D. which records that he joined Royal Engineers TA on 12/12/1938 and was posted to the 394th Coy. Embodied 2/9/1939 and transferred to the Royal Artillery on 1/8/1940. He was transferred to the Hampshire Regiment (8th Battalion) on 7/10/1944. On 9/1/1945 he was attached to 2 Commando Brigade training wing, and subsequently posted to 2 Commando on 1/2/1945."
