"Burma Dave" Davison was Leonard (Len) Davison, Ken's best friend.
"Spud" Hedges looks to be Sgt Harry Hedges.

There is some correlation of various names with other photos in your gallery from the collection of Sgt Ted Tharme, e.g. [View this photo] though with different spellings for Davison / Davidson and "Tich" Dayson / "Titch" Dyson. I know that Davison is correct in Ken's version but I suspect Dyson is more likely for the other chap because of multiple IDs by that name in other photos in your gallery.".

Kenneth 'Ken' Osborn REES, No. 5 Commando, courtesy of his friend Angela Dodd-Crompton who adds "Ken was a commando from 1943 to 1944 when he was shipped out to South Africa with Malaria and TB. He wasn't expected to live and took two years to recuperate sufficiently to be sent home but survived another 69 years." Ken died on 19th December 2013, aged 90.
