Private Albert Walter Tuck
Private Albert Tuck, 2 Troop, was wounded on 16 August 1943 during operations in Sicily from which he recovered and rejoined his Commando.
He was wounded a second time on 4 February 1944 during a raid on the enemy occupied island of Hvar. Despite a serious chest wound he managed to crawl three miles in 48 hours to get to the ferry port where he met up with a Major, who had stayed on the island for reconnaissance, and two other commandos. There his wounds were treated by the Major before all returned to their base on Vis. Private Tuck again returned to his Commando after recovery from this wound.
