Unit query
Peachey and Smith were both attached from the South Lancs. Regt. There was a Pte. G.A. Stubbs in No 2 Commando who was also attached from the South Lancs Regt. The date and location suggest this was when they were in the Independent Company/1st Special Service Bn.

This is the village of Wriedel in Germany. Wriedel is located approximately 20 KMs south of Lüneburg. The Sign says Bremers Gasthof meaning Bremers Inn. It is located on the Hauptstrasse 34 in Wriedel. B-Squadron Inns of Courts concentrated here on April 17th 1945. The Inns of courts operated with 11th Armoured Division in 1945, as did 1st Commando Brigade.
