Can someone tell me how and when he came to England? I would like to hear from anyone with information about the French commandos at Eastbourne. Thank you.

That's my Bob there having his smoke, talking to Steve & Hazel and Bill Harvey - I guess I'm hidden.
Thanks Geoff.

Third Jungle Book Sep 1945
A copy of this particular group photo of 3 Troop is also to be found on page 47 of the "Third Jungle Book" issue No.8 September 1945. The tall figure standing at the extreme right is that of Eddy Fitzgerald, who was a well known personality and a regular performer in No1 concert parties. His name also appears as one of the performers in the No1 Commando news letter and concert party programme that I have also included in the gallery.

My Dad, Bernard Edwards, is third row back, second from the left. Also (but not certain) could be Cpl Walker and Ray Buckby - second and third from left on front row.

The chap in the centre was as far as my Grandad remembers Harry Council, he was shot and wounded and my Grandad remembers crawling over to him and trying to help him. While this was happening the poor fellow took another round in the foot. Apparently they laughed about this later.
