man on the left
the man on the left of the picture is indeed a man known as his nickname "spud " he was also known as my father Horace Taylor , in the picture of course he was corporal Taylor ,for many years he spoke of his dear friend "Fitz" and I can only say what a delight it is to see this wonderful picture of them both.

Trooper Arthur Evans
I am the nephew of Trooper Evans and would be very interested in knowing how this image came to be posted in his memory.
I have been searching for information on him and this photo has been a huge help to me. Thank you.

names
very interesting - I think Hylton should be Hilton if this was the section that landed at Yellow Beach One. My father Roger Hilton was captured there as were many others and i would love to read any accounts of that event. Thank you

identity
You don`t think it`s Capt (as he then was) Young?
My father, Trooper Roger Hilton 3 Commando is the left hand one of the two with glasses about half way back. He was captured on Yellow 2 at Dieppe and any information about others captured with him, and their journey to Silesia as his letters are to be published would be appreciated. Thanks, very useful site
