Pte James (Jim) Bogle

His son Alan Bogle provided this information with the photo of his Father, "Private James Bogle 11th Scottish Commando (Gordon Highlanders) passed away on 28th October 2018. He served in 8 Troop and saw action at Litani and on Operation Flipper - possibly the last survivor of that raid. He was the last Commando off the submarine jumping in as his best mate Charlie Locke struggled in the water. He was captured in the aftermath of the raid and spent time in three Italian POW camps before transfer to Stalag IVG where he was sent to work in a stone quarry near Grimmer in Germany. He served two years post 1945 in the Scottish Rifles as part of the occupation forces in Germany."
