German naval officer shakes the hand of Lt Hopwood, 5 troop No.2 Commando, at the funeral for the dead of both sides which took place at Escoublac on Wednesday 1st April 1942. In the back row 3rd from the right is Lt Corran Purdon, No.12 Commando, who was later awarded the Military Cross.
