I believe the person top row no 11 to be my father Wilfred William Gordon Greenwood PO/X 6874.
I have a photo of him as part of a athletics team photo which he told me was taken in Malta around this time. I have quite a few photos of his time in 40 commando. I know he served in Malaya, Singapore, Korea and Malta between the dates 1946 when he joined and about 1953 or '54.
I would love a better copy of this picture if possible?
My email is [email protected]
Thanks!

Hopefully this might provide a clue to where some of the other photographs were taken.

Row 3 No 7 Gerald Bunting (1929-2013)
I have a high resolution scan of this image.
I never knew where it was taken till seeing this picture. We only learned a little more of my father's time in the marines after my mothers death.
I have numerous other picture of him with "mates", probably some on here

Pre Commando photo
Not all those named here woll have gone onto serve in the Commandos. At this period there was still a choice between Commando service and Ship service.
