<description><![CDATA[Commissioned into 4th Battalion, The Borders Regt, Charles Jordan Bellingham Pollitt volunteered for the Commandos and was posted to No.1 Commando. A popular officer he became second in command until posted to No.5 Commando to succeed Lt Col D. Shaw.<br />
Lt Col Pollitt was badly wounded in the knee in the Battle for Hill 170.<br />
