<br />
Pierre Laux was born on 16 June 1918 in Kayl, Luxembourg. He became a member of the French Foreign Legion in Morocco when Luxembourg was invaded during WWII.<br />
 <br />
In 1942 Laux went to London where he enlists in the Devonshire Regiment and then volunteers for the Commandos.<br />
<br />
On D-Day, Laux landed on Sword Beach with No.4 Commando. He took part in the liberation of Ouistreham and went on to fight in the Battle of Normandy. <br />
On 2 November 1944, Pierre Laux landed at Vlissingen on Walcheren Island in the Netherlands. He was killed in action at the entrance of a German pillbox. <br />
<br />
Laux is buried in the War Cemetery in Bergen-op-Zoom.]]></description>
