Photo courtesy of his daughter Isabella Murray who adds "My father served with No 4 Commando and went ashore on Sword Beach on DDay. He was seriously injured in the battle for Caen on June 20th-27th. He was brought home to Blackburn Infirmary and lost the sight in his right eye as a result of the injury. He was later involved in training troops for for action in Holland. De-mobbed as Sgt in the Royal Scots Fusiliers"
