On the 10th January 1947 Mne Nichol was released from service. In 1948 he was in the first batch of 30 volunteers for the newly raised Royal Marines Forces Volunteer Reserve. In his collection was a certificate relating to this and another group photo from his time in the Royal Armoured Corps TA.
