Joseph was the brother of Marine Robert Casson, 4 Special Service Brigade HQ. Both were killed in action during Operation Overlord at Normandy. Unlike his brother Robert, Joseph was not Commando trained. He is buried alongside his brother at Ryes War Cemetery, Bazenville.
