Photo courtesy of his son Hugh Knapton who adds, "I remember Dad saying that the villagers were asking them to get rid of the tiger, as it was killing their livestock. Dad's diary on 24 Feb 1942 states that a tiger had killed a cow in the village, and on the 25th it says that one of his men had seen a large tiger in the camp, and that he went out about 30 yards into the jungle with a tommy gun but could not find it."

The location is shown as Nam-Kai.
WO1 R.A. Knapton also served in No 4 and No 7 Commandos. (Obituary CA Newsletter 87 of 1988)
