No1 Commando panorama photo No 327 and 335
*** Photo updated.Register and post a message on our Forum if you have any relevant photos***No 327 is my late father James Henry Davies. At the conclusion of the war he was a Major serving in Burma/Malaya.
I can also identify No 335 as his younger brother, Alan J. Davies who also served in Burma/Malaya, ending the war as a Captain.

James PIZEY has been killed in BEUZEVILLE ( eure ) advance to the River SEINE, and not ROTS. The battle in ROTS was the 11th of June 1944.

The location of this photo is that of the Drop Redoubt fort at the Western Heights at Dover, and not Dover Castle as labelled. 'C' Troop are sitting on the edge of the 1860s sidearms store on the terreplein. No.4 Commando were stationed at the fort for the five nights of the raid.

My father John Mc Arthur from Largs Ayrshire Scotland served with Lord Lovat and spoke often with high regard of piper Bill Millan , I am looking for information on my late father who I believe was wounded twice returned to his company and was I think at Normandy. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated
